The EDB in collaboration with the Ministry of Industrial Development, SMEs and Cooperatives, the Fashion Design Institute and the MTPA hosted a Fashion show on the 16th of March in the margin of Expo2020 Dubai, under the banner of the Mauritius Pavilion.
The theme of the fashion show was “Fashion Innov 1.0: Roots of the Future”.
The fashion show has depicted the evolution of clothing in Mauritius from historical to contemporary fashion and the future trend towards sustainability through the collections developed by the FDI and local apparel manufacturers, with the support of Carlin International.
78 Outfits were showcased, designed by 22 Final year students at the Fashion design Institute.
The audience was composed mainly of Press and social media influencers in the Fashion and Lifestyle segment in the UAE, buyers in the Textile and Fashion industry and key stakeholders that have supported the Mauritius Pavilion over the past 6 months. Thanks to the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority a close partner in this event, some of the finest social media influencers of the region were invited to cover the fashion show.
