The International Creole Day will be globally celebrated on the 28 October, as recognised by the UNESCO. The Mauritius Pavilion will be commemorating the Day by sharing with the +190 participating countries the richness and diversity of Mauritian Creole. To mark the Creole Day celebration, the spotlight will be turned on Mauritius sharing tradition through musical creativity. On that special day, the Mauritian Creole culture will be used as a bridge to create intercultural dialogue and new bonds with other nations, expo participants and with visitors. A common programme is being planned between the French Pavilion and the Mauritius Pavilion, and to also mark the existing regional ties, a musical melting pot is envisaged with Reunion Island, and the Seychelles.
